Firstly, we would like to give a brief introduction to the application of nanomaterials in cosmetics.

When the particle size of substance is reduced to the nanometer level, the substance has small size effect, quantum size effect, macroscopic quantum tunneling effect and surface effect, especially the particle size of a substance is close to the De Broglie wavelength of the electrons. Due to the quantization effect, small size effect, etc., the influence of the energy level and electronic transition of the material increases suddenly, which affects the material performance. Among nano-functional materials, absorbing materials, especially the absorption in the ultraviolet band, are closely related to cosmetics.

Secondly, which materials can be used in cosmetics?

At present, nano-TiO2 is commonly used in research and application in sunscreen cosmetics, followed by nano-ZnO and SiOX. Other metal oxide nanoparticles such as Fe2O3, Cr2O3 also have UV-absorbing properties, but their use in cosmetics is limited due to toxicity or much deeper color.

Nano TiO2 has its unique advantages as a UV absorber. First of all, nano TiO2 shows absorption performance in both UVA and UVB bands, and is a broad spectrum UV absorber. Secondly, in addition to absorbing UV rays, it can also scatter UV rays to a certain extent. This is a feature that traditional organic UV absorbers do not have.

HTNANO has done a lot of research on the application of nano-TiO2 and nano-ZnO in ultraviolet absorption and achieved great results. We have developed HTTi-03-HS (rutile type) and HTTi-04-HS (rutile type) for the cosmetics industry. And HTZn-03, these types of products not only have the ability to fully resist UV shielding, also have the characteristics of delicate hand feeling, strong refreshing feeling , antibacterial health care and anti-aging, etc., suitable for use in cosmetics.
